Andersen Pacific specialty sawmill in a Pacific Northwest forest clearing

About us

A specialty sawmill rooted in generations of experience.

History

Privately-held and built over six decades.

Founder Charlie Andersen was an active force in British Columbia's forestry industry — and the mill we run today represents his enduring legacy.

  1. Charlie Andersen founds his first forestry-related company, beginning a career of more than 60 years in British Columbia's forest industry.

  2. Mr. Andersen acquires a manufacturing facility in Maple Ridge — Andersen Pacific Forest Products is born — fulfilling a life-long dream.

  3. Andersen Pacific delivers the highest-quality sawn wood products to markets around the globe.

In memoriam

Founder. Builder. Entrepreneur.

Passionate, hard-working, and humble – all words that define Charlie, who founded and built Andersen Pacific Forest Products into the premier specialty sawmill it is today. Starting in log brokerage alongside partner Doug MacKinnon, Charlie quietly built AnFor Holdings Ltd. into a leading business within British Columbia's forestry industry.

What began as a small operation over 60 years ago has grown into: Andersen Pacific, a specialty sawmill; Northview Enterprises, a third party log sort which operates side-by-side with the sawmill on 20 acres in Maple Ridge, right on the Stave River at its confluence with the Fraser River; Blue Mountain Woodlot, a 400-hectare woodlot located in Maple Ridge; and Andersen Timber, which owns a 50% interest in a 20,240-hectare timber licence on Vancouver Island in partnership with the Pacheedaht First Nation – all of it a reflection of how Charlie worked: steadily, quietly and with integrity.
